Ted Williams and the 3rd Dimension Performance Group
Writer and Producer Ted Williams brings youth,
creativity, and unrivaled vision to Chicago's growing arts community.
Williams, who holds degrees in Public Policy Studies from the
University of Chicago (M.P.P. '02), and Rutgers University (B.A.
'98) began his performing arts career in Chicago over 15 years
ago.
Since that time he has done commercial and video
work for McDonald's Corporation (Black History
Celebration with Tom Joyner), Six Flags Great America,
Federal Express, and Jeweler's Mutual Insurance ( aired
nationally on FOX-TV). His stage credits include the national
tour of the gospel musical I'm Saved, Six Degrees
of Separation, The African Cinderella, and Willy
Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. He has also worked
extensively as a dancer, choreographer, and dance instructor in
Chicago, New Jersey, New York, Indiana, and Washington D.C.
He founded the 3rd Dimension Performance Group
in 1999 and promptly began touring the troupe throughout the Midwest,
producing dance and murder mystery dinner theater productions
in a myriad of settings. Since then, Williams has kept a loyal
and ever-increasing audience by directing his performance goup
with fervor and passion. Accomplishments of the 3rd Dimension
Group are:
- Featured on ABC channel 7 special on Bronzeville's
First Bed and Breakfast, February 2002.
- Ongoing performance contract with Bronzeville's
First Bed and Breakfast (Chicago) since 2000.
- R.S.V.P. Enterprises (Bloomington, IL) ongoing
performance contract since 2001.
- Various retreats and worship services with
the New York City and Chicago Churches of Christ.
- Inside
Out Theater Showcase, featured act, November 2001.
- Portraits of Fashion,
featured dance group, September 2001.
- Jesse Dean Stanford and Grace CD release concert,
featured dancers, May 2001.
- MJDAY USA, Tribute
to Michael Jackson (New York), featured act, 1998 and 1999.
- Muscular Distrophy Association Labor Day Charity
Drive.
Williams is also a highly energetic leader, with
many distinctions: New Jersey Housing Scholar Fellow, Nissan Minority
Dealer Scholar, National Association of Black Journalist Scholar,
The New Brunswick School System Community Service Award Winner,
Public Policy School Representative to the Graduate Student Council
at the University of Chicago, Delegate to the U.S. Department
of Education Symposium on Drug and Alcohol use, Alpha Phi Alpha
Fraternity Scholar.
His aim, as a Theatrical Producer, is to present
audiences with quality entertainment that is both breathtaking
and spiritually enlightening.
